Fall 2020 Idea TestLab Winners Announced

The winners of Harrisburg LaunchBox’s Fall 2020 Idea TestLab final pitch competition have been announced. The October 13th, 2020 final pitch competition concluded the Idea TestLab six-week virtual startup course for community entrepreneurs, in which participants validate their customer problems they hope to solve with their proposed business ideas.
Eight teams competed for a total of $5,000 in funding to use for additional customer research and further product development. Winners included:
Guest Scholars – marketplace of experts and scholars – providing live and recorded stock and custom content for institutions and organizations seeking educational content from providers with deep knowledge and expertise.
- Prize: $2,500 (Meg Ramey, founder)
Unlock Potential GG – digital leadership and career readiness program, designed to develop “the 4 C’s of 21st century learning” in middle and high school students through situational learning and interest-based experiences.
- Prize: $1,500 (Basir Vincent, founder)
Visualizing Cultural Heritage – augmented reality app that enhances the tourism experience by overlaying full-scale 3D visualizations onto historic structures. Viewers can experience past or alternative views of historic sites.
- Prize: $1,000 (Tina Anness and Rob Williams, founders)
Harrisburg LaunchBox is recruiting for the winter 2021 Idea TestLab program. The program will be held online from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays, February 16 through March 23, 2021. The application period is open now through January 17, 2021. Early-stage entrepreneurs, based anywhere in Pennsylvania are encouraged to apply.
